The Stage 32 Videos: Jonathan Medina

Immediately after filming Primo I had booked and was working on an episode of @fearwalkingdeadamc As is often the case, work begets work. I got a couple of auditions that were due while I was shooting. One for @thecwwalkerindependence [which I was blessed to get and work on with so many wonderful people] and one for the first season of the @percyseries series, for the role of Hermes. It is often said, in acting circles, that the audition is the job. Well, I loved the Percy Jackson books and the movies. Hermes was a dream to play. The dialogue, the story, the life of this fantastic character! I lost myself in the audition. Had a couple of avail checks before finding out the role went to @lin_manuel - who was great in the role! As a way of saying goodbye I edited my audition (all respect to @c_riffraff ) into the final cut and found that the scene was almost exactly the same length, and almost all of my choices fit into the final edit! Thought I would share it ahead of the second season as a thank you to casting for giving me the opportunity to play Hermes [at least once], and Disney for putting this wonderful series on the air!
